GeoThermal Facts
 |
GeoThermal systems transfer heat from the earth into your home during the winter and reject heat from your home in the summer. The medium for this exchange is fluid inside a ground loop system designed for your unit. |
 |
The EPA has determined GeoThermal heat pump technologies offer a true opportunity for reducing national energy consumption and pollution while delivering reliability and savings to the consumer. |
 |
GeoThermal systems use the constant temperature of the earth as the primary source for heating and cooling rather than varying air temperatures as in conventional systems. This energy source translates into a higher efficiency unit with reduced energy costs! |
 |
U.S. households spent $45 billion on space heating and air conditioning in 1990. With a GeoThermal system, you can enjoy savings over conventional systems as high as 50% when cooling and 70% when heating. |
 |
GeoThermal technology uses the earth's natural energy to heat and cool your home with environmentally responsible construction with no combustion, no ammonia, no R-12 and only a limited refrigerant charge. New environmentally friendly refrigerants are now available. |
 |
In addition to efficiently heating and cooling your home, a GeoThermal unit can use excess system heat to provide hot water at no additional cost in the summer and at a minimal cost in the winter. |
Premier Series
Premier Series products raised the bar when introduced over a decade ago. Since then, many manufacturers have attempted to duplicate the Premier's performance, quality, reliability and quiet operation. Through continuous improvements and upgrades, the Premier family has earned a reputation for excellence and innovation. Units are available in 10 sizes and in vertical and horizontal configurations. Cabinets are constructed with heavy-gauge metal and coated with durable poly paint for long lasting beauty and protection. Units sized 1 ton and larger feature Copeland Scroll compressors for the ultimate in performance and reliability. Coated air coils add durability and long life. A sophisticated microprocessor control sequences all components during operation for optimum performance, and provides easy-to-use troubleshooting features with fault lights and on-board diagnostics. For flexibility, most sizes are available with either PSC or variable speed ECM blower motors.
Envision Series
WaterFurnace Envision products set the industry standard for efficiency, reliability and quiet operation. Available in seven single speed sizes and five dual capacity sizes, Envision units provide exceptional performance. All Envision units utilize the ozone-safe R-410A refrigerant to meet the most stringent EPA requirements now and for many years to come. Coated air coils add durability and longer life. A sophisticated microprocessor control sequences all components during operation for optimum performance, and provides easy-to-use troubleshooting features with fault lights and on-board diagnostics. Unit configurations include horizontal, vertical top discharge and vertical bottom discharge. Heavy-gauge metal cabinets are coated with durable poly paint for long lasting protection. Envision products represent the Company's highest efficiency units combined with features that provide the ultimate in performance and reliability.

Homeowners around Northeast Ohio have learned that a WaterFurnace geothermal system is the smarter way to reduce your carbon footprint and utility bills at the same time. WaterFurnace geothermal systems use the free, renewable energy found in your own back yard to save up to 70% on heating, cooling, and hot water costs.
How GeoThermal Works
Utilizing electrical energy, geothermal systems are extremely efficient.
GeoThermal systems use far less energy than air-to-air heat pumps.
They typically deliver about 3 to 4 times more energy than they
consume. During the summer, the unit extracts heat from your home
and transfers it back to the circulating liquid in the underground
loop system, where it is transferred into the cooler earth. During
the winter, liquid circulating through the underground loop system
absorbs heat from the earth and carries it to the geothermal unit
which extracts the heat and then compresses the heat to a higher
temperature and distributes it throughout the home. Another energy
source is ground water. Ground water remains at a constant temperature
(within a single degree throughout the year), and may be utilized
in lieu of the underground loop system.
GeoThermal Benefits
SAVINGS
Geothermal heat pumps can cut your heating and cooling costs by 50% to 60% and provide hot water.
SAFE, CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE
No pilot lights, no flue vent, no carbon monoxide: with a constant, even temperature and humidity control.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
Helps reduce both outdoor noise and air pollution.
DURABLE
Geothermal heat pumps last longer because they are housed and protected from harsh weather conditions. No defrost cycles are needed like air-to-air heat pumps, which means less stress on critical components and no loss of operating efficiency.
PROVIDES HOT WATER
Sisler's Heat Recovery System employs a circulating pump that moves water from your hot water tank through a double wall vented heat exchanger and then returns the heated water to the tank. As the water passes through the heat exchanger, it's heated by superheated discharge refrigerant gas as it flows through to the other side of the heat exchanger. The heat transferred during cooling mode increases the capacity and efficiency of the heat pump. However, during the heating mode, this heat being transferred to the water would normally be used for space heating. During the heating mode, the heat recovery system may be deactivated simply by the flip of a switch.
